Prohibition Glamour at Citizen M

There's a real charm to Glasgow that you just can't replace or pin down. With each time I meet someone new, be it in a street style situation or not, the response is overwhelmingly positive when they hear that Glasgow is my home city. I must admit, it does make me proud.

It's now been nearly a year since I moved from the not-so-Mean city and not a month goes by where I'm not highly tempted to return for some event. The reason this month? Prohibition Glamour. This design orgy, organised by my Bold Souls chums, is an exciting step forward for new Scottish design talent and with the new home of Citizen M it's bound to be a real winner.

Check out the video from the last event below and head over to Prohibition Glamour this Thursday from 6pm for over 20 fashion stalls, cherry-picked vintage and of course a show to top it all off. Tickets are limited to 100 so better be fast! Each ticket gets you entry, a bottle of Kopparberg and a hair styling session with Rainbow Rooms International. Enjoy it for me Glasgow!

SFA Nomination: Young Photographer of the Year

In 2011, Les Garçons de Glasgow was nominated for 'Communicator of the Year' at the Scottish Fashion Awards and today I discovered I've been nominated for 'Young Photographer of the Year'. Working primarily as a blogger and digital consultant, the photography is often lost amongst the campaign, so to be recognised in this category is a surprise and a huge honour. A big thank you to everyone who has helped me to do what I love, particularly my best friend Daniel.

Below is some of my favourite street images from the past 12 months and visit AnotherGarçon.blogspot.com to see my range of fashion, portrait and street work.

Somerset House: Street Style SS12

With piles of seemingly never-ending work, I've been rather lax when it comes to blog posts. Apologies for the less-than-regular schedule, normal street photography will resume shortly. For now, enjoy some more style seen at Somerset House last Fashion Week in London. For details shots and more men's style, go to AnotherGarçon.blogspot.com.

Alessandro: Somerset House, London

I'm usually a little conflicted about Italian style. The old Milanese have it down, with their short leg pants, expertly fitted blazers and full beards, but I'm not so in touch with the younger generation who have a love affair with sportswear. Alessandro seemed to bring both worlds together perfectly: plaid blazer and paisley collar shirt bringing some British vintage, paired with coloured skinnys and Converse.

Emilie: Elm Row, Edinburgh

Edinburgh isn't a city associated with taking risks with style. When I spotted Emilie, a Bristol native studying sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, her stark but relaxed outfit stood out. The loose mens trousers rolled up to show the battered old cherry Docs are equal in measure of style and practicality - just what is needed to be a hands-on artist. Check out her musing via Tumblr on EmilieHouldsworth.tumblr.com.

Lily: Dundee Botanical Gardens

Last month I travelled up to Dundee to shoot the SS12 campaign for Scottish brand Nkili. It was my first time to Scotland's fourth largest city and also the first ever collection for Nkili. Born from a desire to find the perfect silk shirt, Tolani founded the company based on values of hand craft and ethical manufacturing. Here, Lily is wearing one of my favourite pieces - the Beaulah silk shirt with hand printed collar.

Mr Karl Edwin Guerre is my favourite street style blogger du jour and a big style inspiration for me. I've photographed him for Les Garçons twice in Paris, but this was his first London visit. To see his full look and details, go to our men's style blog Another Garçon.
