Che Camille is the type of store every city should have.
Unknown enough so it feels exclusive but whispered about so frequently you know it is a place to be seen in.
Founded and run by New Yorker/honorary Glaswegian Camille Lorigo, it has all the benefits of the U.S. of A., without a corporate stamp.

Coming from New York, Camille’s got a wealth of creative history to reference. With a pinch of Warhol’s Factory, a nod to Fiorucci on 59th and a dash of Comme des Garcons in Chelsea, what more could us humble Glaswegians want? But this is not simply a shop – it acts more as a conceptual art space, with a DJ booth, art displays, events and work studios for the Glasgow 10, an initiative set up to support Scottish artists and designers.
We met up with Camille and the team, to catch up and play dress-up.

After routing around the store, we all choose our favourite things. One of our favourite discoveries is Cara Fairbairn Jewellery. She has a unique take on vintage style and since finding her in Che Camille, Jonathan had her commission a ring - she currently only has a womens collection, but is happy to make unique pieces.

Another artist setting Glasgow’s fashion scene alight, is Creative 30 winner William Chambers. His high quality hats have been seen on Roisin Murphy on her European tour as well as in the pages of Vogue. Paris, look out for more of him in 2010.

All items listed above are exclusive to Che Camille and for sale in the Che Camille store!
Camille has the eye and we have the desire. We fall in love with their world a little more each time we visit. Be prepared for an invasion of design from C.C. in March - a Supermax event, secret McQueen collection and exclusive exhibitions. We need no more.
